No Model Army!

Thanks to the infinite wisdom of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service the awesome and iconic New Model Army were denied visas this week – which in effect has put the kibosh on their entire U.S. tour. The brilliant British band join a growing list of musicians who have had extensive tour plans derailed by the pencil-pushers of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service this year. Other acts of note: Lily Allen, MIA, and Jesu.

So I now have the unpleasant job of reporting that New Model Army’s highly anticipated return to Rock And Roll Hotel this Saturday has been cancelled. Refunds are available at your point of purchase. NMA vow to return to US shores for an invasion in the Spring.

In the meantime Rock And Roll Hotel has arranged a great stop-gap line-up for Saturday night that includes DC punks Supreme Commander, Black & White Jacksons, and the ever eclectic & instantly danceable Washington Social Club. Doors are at 830 – $10 cover.

Also upstairs that night my monthly DJ night – Room 429 – will be rocking for free as scheduled.

It should all make for a great night at the Hotel – hope to see you there – and New Model Army when they return this Spring!

Ugh. That’s too bad, I was looking forward to the show. I wonder why they didn’t get the visas; there’s no explanation on the website.
