CVS Convenience Factor: High!

While I may dislike Home Depot Line Automation, and CVS sometimes puts up barriers to products, I’m a fan of the automated checkout systems at the 20th and M Street NW store.

These machines are quick to scan, faster to transact, and you don’t have to deal with the sometimes surly staff. But what’s more amazing was my dealings with the pharmacy last night.

Needing a prescription filled, I dropped by the CVS pharmacy in the 20th and M Street store around 5pm, totally expecting that my pills wouldn’t be ready till this morning.

Imagine my shock when the pharmacists whipped out the pills, and had me happily drugged up by 5:05pm! Now that quick, efficient, humanizing service is even better than a automated check out.

Was it the tall bald pharmacist? Without a doubt, the BEST PHARMACIST EVAR!!!!!!!

Yeah, Pauper, it was. He was so quick and efficient, much better than the guy at 15th and K who always seemed annoyed that customers actually wanted something from him.

When I exclaimed my shock at such great service the bald guy just laughed at my comparison to 15th and K. Seems I’m not the only one amazed at the difference in pharmacies.

In my opinion, that’s the best CVS in the area. They even have a “non-paid” greeter who looks like Bubbles from The Wire. Awesome.

Tall bald pharmacist rocks!!!! The two women who work back there = much less useful.

I have never experienced worse customer service than at that CVS at 20th and M. Those ladies are more concerned with sharing gossip with each other than even greeting the damn customer. I use the self check out every time I go in there now. Except today, when the damn things wouldn’t scan thanks to Wayan’s MySpace photo session screwing up their electromagnetic sensors.

But I must say my favorite CVS cashier is Richard, at the location on Dupont Circle. He’s the man.
