First Annual Gershwin Prize


On May 23rd, the Warner Theatre will host the first annual Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. This year’s recipient is Paul Simon. Performers will include Yolanda Adams, Marc Anthony, Dixie Hummingbirds, Jerry Douglas, Art Garfunkel, Philip Glass, Alison Krauss, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lyle Lovett, Stephen Marley, James Taylor and Buckwheat Zydeco.

Warning: Tickets are not cheap. They range from $150 for the upper balcony to $750 for the best orchestra seats. If you have the disposable income, it should be an outstanding show. There is 4 ticket limit per person.

If you can’t afford to see the show live, don’t despair. PBS will broadcast the event on Wednesday, June 27th at 9PM ET.
