Wachovia “Convenience” Fee

I needed money the other day to get my regular fix at Murky Coffee and crossed over to Wachovia, where not only was I charged the usual extra bit to use the ATM, but I was insulted as well. Instead of calling it a service fee or transaction fee, they call it a “convenience fee.” Come on, Wachovia – don’t piss in my ear and tell me it’s raining. There’s nothing convenient about that.

TicketBastard has been doing this to us for years, are you really surprised?

I think you’re just reading it wrong. It’s convenient for THEM for you to use a machine to do transactions rather than talk to a teller. Machinery is a depreciating asset, labor costs are just overhead.

More so with TktBasturd when you have a monopoly on the ticketing service almost all entertainment venues.

I am a wachovia accout holder and I am sick of all the fees (and lack of convienent ATM’s by my home and work). I am thinking about switching completly to “Electric Orange”- an ING, paperless checking account. They even have a “no-fee” ATM just steps from my apartment!

So I take you also hate Convenience Stores for charging $6 for a gallon of milk too?

I’m a Bank of America customer and for all their commercials advertising how many ATMs they have around, there’s not a single one near my office that I don’t have to hoof it at least 5-6 blocks, so sure it’s convenient for me to use a nearby one from another bank, I don’t mind them calling it that. What I mind is the slap in the face from B of A charging me an additional fee for not being able to find or willing to walk to one of their ATMs.

Places like Ticketmaster or Fandango need to stop calling their crap convenience fees, that’s what really grinds my gears.

My brother and I have both had accounts with Wachovia and have nicknamed them “Walk all over ya” because of the fees. Remember the good old days when banks were pleased as pigs in shit for you to open an account and use their services? Now they are doing us a favor and consequently we have to pay for every darned thing that used to be free.
