Drafthouse gonna give ’em metal
Get ready to bang your head! Next Wednesday, November 22, Heavy Metal Parking Lot is getting a special screening at the Arlington Cinema N Drafthouse. Filmmakers John Heyn and Jeff Krulik will be there to talk about their cult classic which was filmed on May 31, 1986 before a Judas Priest concert at the Capital Centre. Back in May, Krulik and Heyn participated in a Metroblogging DC Q&A on the 20th anniversary of the concert.
As if a big screen viewing was not already enough, HMPL alumni are scheduled to appear. We can only hope Zebraman will be one of them. There will be a live performance by Vollmer:
Rockin’ the local scene for over 20 years, Vollmer plays classic metal and searing rock originals. Vollmer has opened for Thin Lizzy, Dokken, Vince Neil and Ratt.
Also scheduled to appear — “high school metal sensation Liquid Law.”
Tickets are $10 online and $12 at the door.
