still time to drink some wine
There’s still time today to get to the Virginia Wine Festival and enjoy tastes of more than 350 premium wines (red, white, and speciality) produced by over 100 wineries in the Commonwealth. Don’t bother with buying the tickets in advance – it doesn’t really save you any time at the gate.
Smouie Kablooie was there yesterday, and based on our experience, you should GET THERE EARLY. We arrived at 11:00 AM and left at 3:00 – at which point there was a line of cars to get into the event that stretched all the way from the equestrian center to old town Leesburg!
The rain made things a bit uncomfortable at first – you know how pushy east coasters can get when they are forced to share a limited amount of covered space – let alone wait in a line to taste some good wine. Things took a turn for the better when the sun came out – and all in all we had a good time.
Especially this guy in the far center… Be sure not to drink so much you feel the need to lay down in the middle of a field – everyone with a camera phone will probably take your picture.
