All Caps games to be televised
While malevolent forces outside of Washington conspired to keep the city’s baseball team off the airwaves, the hockey team will have no such issues this season. All 82 regular season Washington Capitals games are scheduled to be televised locally.
Comcast SportsNet will air 56 games during the 2006-07 season, while WDCW (formerly WB50) will carry 13 games and NewsChannel 8 will carry 10 games. Every Capitals home game on Comcast SportsNet will be available in high definition. Three Capitals games will be broadcast on national television by NBC and OLN (which will change its name to Versus on Sept. 25).

Also, DC101’s Elliot in the Morning is hosting a 21st birthday party for Alex Ovechkin tonight at R-N-R Bar and Lounge (717 6th Street NW). Ovechkin is scheduled to appear at the party following tonight’s preseason matchup with Tampa Bay (7:05 p.m., Verizon Center).
