Coup de Blog
Hop over to Metroblogs Bangkok for a taste of blogging from inside a military coup. Best wishes to all our authors over there – hope the coup is of the bloodless variety.
The army has taken over most communication and broadcasting channels but Metroblogging marches on.
Well, HH The King has announced his support of the military leaders. That means either he supports them or else he is forced to do so. We saw this back in 1975 with King Sihnanouk in Cambodia as well.
I think getting rid of Thaksin Shinawatra is a huge step in the right direction. He was very bad for the country and the Thai people, in my opinion, and was responsible for a lot of senseless bloodshed. A plain old thug in a really nice suit. With a new constitution and government, hopefully there will be an end to the violence in southern Thailand and the country will have a peaceful leadership.
Pom chawp meung Thai. (I love Thailand.)
