Welcome to Our Neighborhood
When I’m not beating up girls on skates, occasionally I like to do things with my family. On Thursday afternoon I got an IM from my mom (she’s rad) saying that they were going to dinner for my little sister’s birthday that night, and wanted to know if I would join them. Now, my parents aren’t exactly bougi, but it was Restaurant Week in DC, so I suggested a few good places and was abruptly interrupted with instructions to go to one particular blah chain restaurant in my lovely hometown of Woodbridge.
Seriously? Aside from the white trash connotation that Talladega Nights has recently given to this establishment, I was severely tainted by the DCist article perfectly describing the feeling of utter disdain I have for places like this. Needless to say, I obliged, aside from the craptitude, who can turn down free dinner and a night with the fam?
Oh, by the way, Hi! I’m Slambam, #XO from the DC Rollergirls. I’ll be updating you all weekly on the league happenings and invitations to our events. Nice to meetcha, I’m stoked to be here… hope you’re stoked to have me.
Not sure if stoked is the right word, damn close though. Welcome likewise, to our little party. I would kill to go see one of these rollergirl events. You go girl!
Slambam,
I always welcome new, esp. one that brings some color into the old guard. I love that your young hip (no offense to the original dcmetbloggers) writing style will be infused with the others on this site.
Looking for more entries!

Awesome, I’m also looking forward to new entries. haha. ;)
Your innuendos are as shameless as they are exhilarating, and I’m embarrassed to even admit it. ;-)
Thanks pervface, that’s TOTALLY not what I meant. I’m glad my boss isn’t in today, hysterical giggling in the bullpen doesn’t really fit into our scheme of office etiquette. Wow, highschool.
