Think you have what it takes to be “King of the Swingers”? Not afraid to go the “Full Monty”? Can you sing? grind? dance? shake your bon-bon? Then get your rosy red cheeks down to The Rockville Music Theatre for open auditions of RMT’s The Full Monty on August 6th, 7th and 8th from 7 to 9 p.m., please note that auditions are actually being held at the Bethesda Elementary School [Google Map].
Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their “Girls’ Night Out,” unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun.
Certainly a far cry from the origins of the film set in Sheffield, England, and even further still from the days of Monty Python. The term “the full monty” is slang for “the whole lot”, similar to other movie slang “Lock, Stock…”, and although there’s quite the debate on the source of the phrase, it’s widely used around Britain as slang.
