I just couldn’t do it.

Despite their really amazing website and the promise of a State Fair/Carnival atmosphere, I just couldn’t justify to myself that $15 is what it would take to get inside the Atlas District’s newest bar/attraction, Palace of Wonders. I love Americana, and the sideshow carnival is absolutely a core and interesting part of that subcultural interest. Even though Trixie Little was there to stamp her approval on this pseudo-burlesque outfit, I just couldn’t do it.

I just can’t get excited enough to pay that much money to make it through the front door. Call me when the crowds subside, and I’ll make it my own.

Besides. I need more exercise before I can handle a corndog.

$15 cover? Pleeeze! Unless there is a free drink promotion, and I’m talking several, not just one, I ain’t paying $15 to get into a bar, just to pay again for my booze.

Not even if the $15 came with a round of midget tossing.

And I heard there was a line out of the door to get in. I should have asked someone as they were leaving if the $15 was worth it. It totally turned me away.
