Cherry Blossoms update
Robert DeFeo, chief horticulturist of the National Park Service, announced that the peak bloom (WTOP) for the Tidal Basin cherry blossoms is expected to be early this year, Monday, March 27 – Saturday, April 1. The average date for peak bloom is April 5. Peak bloom is defined as the time when 70% of the trees in bloom.

wow, that is early … but they sure are gorgeous when they’re out. it’s been a couple years since we’ve been, maybe time to make another trek in to see them!
