1 Cup Laughter, 1/2 Cup Sniffles

Ok, these Washington Post TV ads about their classifieds are hilarious. I’ve finally stopped moving for the day and sat down to watch the new show Miracle Makers on ABC (uh yeah, I’m already crying), and the Post is running their ads frequently.

The one I just saw was supposedly a doctor/surgeon (I believe) saying she was “good with a pair of scissors” and “well, I’m cheap.” She reported a $13 savings at the market with her clipped Post coupons.

The next one was a funny guy saying he was looking for true love in the classifieds ending with “is that too much to ask?” Maybe I’m passed the point of The Mondays – or maybe I’m emotional from Miracle Makers (the guy has been blind most of his life and is going to see his kids for the first time! If you don’t cry at that, you probably have a heart of stone).

Either way, they are definitely amusing.

They are also amusing for their desperation. Who reads the Post classifieds anyway?

Need to buy/sell a thing? eBay or criagslist
Need to hire/get a job? Monster or craigslist
Need a place to live? craigslist
    Need a lover? Match.com
    Need to advertise? Google Adwords
Need a cat box liner? Post Classifieds
