WAMU, broadcasting from FM 88.5 and two years ago

Well, our own Diane Rehm has snubbed us but we’re in good company. On today’s 11am show she talked to Dan Burstein about his new book “Blog,” but not one mention of the subject of local events and issues blogging – just national news issues. C’mon guys! Blogs vs Big Media is sooooo 2004 – let’s hear about how we’re impacting local issues and coverage.

Today’s update from 2004 should be available for you to listen to online by this evening.

Are you sure it wasn’t a re-run?! Man, I knew DC was behind the curve in a lot of ways, but this is just ridiculous.

Well, she’s interviewing a lightweight (if the Amazon review about him and his book is to be believed) about his dead-tree-based writings about Blogs. It was a little dissapointing that she wasn’t better prepared – usually when I listen to her show I get the strong sense she’s done some homework about the subject. Perhaps technology (even if it’s social technology) puts her off.

I used the comment form over at WAMU to let them know that DC was a very blog-heavy town and that many of us local bloggers wouldn’t mind talking about blogging with her about the local blogscene here in DC.
