I love good bagpipes. They’re a wonderful thing. When played by good pipers.

In the hands of this charlatan, it sounds like he’s violating a cat.

I believe his name is Mason. He’s seems to be a nice guy &, to me, sounds like every other bagpiper, but I’m not a fan of the genre, associating it w/police funerals, etc. And no, the idea of being a street musician is *believing* that you’re good @ what you do, not actually being good @ what you do (which may be why they’re playing on the street).

That’s true enough, furcafe, true enough. Love your photo work!

I gotta respect the guy just for playing bagpipes on the street. Not exactly a popular instrument or musical genre (unless you’re doing comedy like the 2 “rock ‘n’ roll” pipers that played the Berkeley campus back in my college days). Thanks for looking @ my photos. Glad you enjoy ’em.

There are some awesome street pipers in this town, including one who plays Capitol South and another who plays Farragut West, and damn if they’re not the real deal. Yeah, it’s a tough instrument to master, I have respect for that.
