Okay, now that’s just wrong.

Apparently, the panda tickets are so valuable, they’re now being traded for sexual favors. Sadly, the original Craig’s List ad was taken down by the community, but Wonkette was already there (how’d she find the ad? I’ll leave that to your imagination…), and boy is it depraved:

If you can get me a ticket to see Tai Shan between now and December 30, I will (I can’t believe I am saying this) give you a handjob, with my hands. Maybe, if you are cute, a BJ. I am serious about this. I really want to see this panda.

Folks, no panda is worth selling your dignity. Not at all. That’s just fucked up.

Ok – I don’t even KNOW what to say, except that I need to be on record of saying “what the CRAP are these people thinking?!?”

I’m sorry (and oops, I might accidentally go in to my first panda tirade on this site at this very moment), but what is so special about the panda’s anyway? I mean, even if they ARE cute and cuddly and furry, who cares?!?!

But even on the premise that they are the greatest thing ever – this is still insanely ridiculous.

Whatever – folks been giving hand/blow jobs for less. Just ask Hugh Grant or Eddie Murphy, or anyone loosing rings on K Street. Hey, even panda handlers are getting it good. Check out the photo of the panda on Wonkette. Tell me she ain’t happy with her Butterstick!

She may be happy with her Butterstick, but the fact that she blew some guy to get it seems…

Fox Five’s coverage of this story last night was comical.

First of all, people with tickets only get like 10 minutes (in a crowd of other people pushing their way to the front) to even see the Panda. Why anyone would go through all that effort to watch the thing sleeping is beyond me — they could see the same thing on Panda Cam. Second of all, if they just waited a few more months for the restrictions to be lifted, eventually Tai Shan will be wandering around outside in the yard for everybody to see. I don’t get the urgency — and certainly not at that price!
