I’m a sucker for seafood

And if you are, too, you should definitely eat here, the Oceanaire on F Street, NW. A business lunch took me to the Oceanaire today for the first time and I walked away thoroughly stuffed and impressed.

I started with the delectable raw oyster bar and sampled 10 different types from New England and Canada. Yum. Then it was on to the “dirty” (Cajun) Swordfish (medium rare), asparagus, and new potatoes. I topped all of this off with a mango sorbet and coffee. All of the food was meticulously prepared and absolutely delicious.

Anyone else been here? I highly recommend it and I also recommend having someone else pay for it, as I did today!

When you go back, get the mussels. Best mussels I’ve had outside London’s Belgo Centraal.

Oysters at Oceanaire are the absolute best! A friend of mine and I go just for the oysters – start out with one of each, then narrow down to two or three varietals, and get another dozen of your favorites. And another. Repeat as necessary.

And you’re so right Glenn, get a fat cat to pick up the tab… ;)
