Power Peddlar

bandar.jpg Speculation has run rampant for the past few months about the future of Washington’s Dean of Ambassadors, Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bandar Ibn Sultan. The official word from Riyadh was that the dashing and energetic prince was on vacation until August.

It turns out that Prince Bandar will not be returning to Washington after all. In his stead will be former head of Saudi Intelligence, Prince Turki Al Faisal. Prince Turki’s most recent appointment was as the oil kingdom’s ambassador to the United Kingdom. He is the son of the late King Faisal, who was assassinated in 1975, and younger brother of Prince Saud Al Faisal, currently Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

No word on whether Prince Bandar’s mansion in McLean, VA or his ranch in Poolesville, MD will be up for sale…
