Skatin’ in a Winter Wonderland

Winter isn’t that far off (though it doesn’t even quite feel like fall yet), and if you’re looking for a place to go ice skating when the time comes, I recommend the rink at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. The rink is big enough that even when a lot of people are there, it’s not too crowded. They also play music while you skate, though they tend to stick to themes – once it was all Celine Dion, which made for an…interesting experience. Admission is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors, students (with ID), and kids. Skate rental is $3 with ID. You can also rent a locker for $0.50, with a $5 deposit. There’s more information here.
