Two killed by Metrobus in Downtown Accident

WAMU is reporting two people were struck and killed by a Metrobus at the corner of 7th St. NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. WJLA is confirming the story, though saying that only one of the two pedestrians was fatally injured. WMATA.com is short on details, as usual, and local news stations are also fairly devoid of information.

Yet another major tragedy involving the Metro system…

I mean, what is going on with the entire system? There are so many things lately. I don’t believe in curses but if I did, I’d think there was one on WMATA right now.

    So sad for the families…

Yeah, we were down there tonight around 7 pm, and it was pretty clear from the level of activity that it was a fatality. 2 buses with crime scene tape attached, probably 20 police cruisers, floodlights, and the entire intersection cordoned off. Not a good day.

Man, this is a real tragedy especially if the driver didn’t see them, that’s what they’re paid to do.
