(just saw this now, sorry didn&#039;t followup earlier...)

i&#039;m the program chair for GSP East, and i must admit i hadn&#039;t seen the language before that O&#039;Reilly was using for the media pass requests.  my guess is that&#039;s probably boilerplate that was borrowed from earlier times when they were a little more stringent on the online vs offline reporting policy.

these days, i know they may still have RSS readership rqmts for blogger / media passes, but i&#039;m pretty sure they do make them available to notable bloggers.  certainly as program chair i&#039;ve expressed my opinion that online media and print media are equally notable / respectable.

apologies for any impressions otherwise.  if you&#039;d like to followup, drop me a note or let me know at the conference.
