I didn't always agree with her and found her annoying at times, but it was that quality - a willingness to press people and be somewhat 'raw' on calling them on their bullshit - that was what made her valuable, I think. Then again, I have never known the show without her, since I moved here post 2002. Perhaps the guests and/or whoever becomes the new permanent person will do the job just as well. Well that was kind of her role, though, wasn’t it?
