Awakening Awoke

awoke.png Check out the Express today for a photo-log of digging up the Awakening and packing it for movement to Prince George’s. I hate to see it go to a lower profile location, but such is the whim of commerce.

We’ll miss you, old man.

You think that a $2.1 Billion dollar project which will create thousands of jobs and have hundreds of thousands of visitors to the hotel, shops, and restaurants over the next few years is a lower profile location?

I think if anything, more people will get to see the art at its new location than ever before!

Okay, first, the jobs have no bearing on the profile of the location. The investment dollars have a bit more bearing, but is putting the Awakening amid a shopping mall really the best choice for displaying the art? I’m fairly sure it’s better off in the park at Hains Point.
