yikes! SORRY!

seriously, my apologies.

next time i'll be better.

i thought of putting a 'disclaimer', but our cat was downstairs freaking out, so i just posted and ran downstairs to find him attacking my wife's new faux fur coat.

ugh... story of my life...

Yeah, that link is pretty much as NSFW as you can get. I am hanging with family for Christmas this year and made the mistake of opening it last night in the family room....oops.

Poo Poo - as always, I appreciate your insight, but perhaps next time you could mark it NSFW? I almost had a stroke when I opened the link!

If one is going to argue that DC doesn't deserve representation because it wasn't part of the "original compact." then one had better be prepared to ALSO argue that women, black people, and any state that didn't yet exist in 1787 also don't count, because they weren't part of the deal, either. Oh wait, black people were counted as 3/5 of a person back then...

Jackass.

Well, we can find non-Federal DC landmarks...

Perhaps the Kennedy Center or Watergate? Old Post Office building?

I'm pro-putting Ben's Chili Bowl on it, though...

Despite strongly supporting the residents of DC who want the opportunity to have their voices count in Congress, I'm not sure I support using the quarter for it. Plus - let's be optimistic - the quarters will be around for a long time ... hopefully longer than the 'screw you, DC' mentality Congress has right now.

I'm sentimental this way, but I would much rather see the cherry blossoms around the tidal basin, the Smithsonian castle or a representation (not a bust since that seems to be prohibited) of a famous, historic figure hailing from Washington (as suggested by a few in the WaPo article).

I'd like to see them find a way to put "Taxation without representation" on the quarters.

And Brett, you've missed the actual size of DC by about a factor of 7, buddy.

Congressional representation belongs to the states, not the 10 square miles in D.C.,simply because D.C. was NOT a part of the compact between the several States, and therefore has NO right to Representation. I would strongly suggest moving to a State to be represented. But then again,I have not seen a fair Representation of the people from any of the States in quite a few years.
