You must be joking

As if some people in this town needed an excuse to hate tourists. The DC tourism board has created a promotion to appeal to fans of the upcoming National Treasure sequel. I guess their money is as green as anyone else’s, but really, is the package going to include a tour or all the places where fictional events didn’t really happen?

If “as seen in the movie” is the most interesting thing to you about the Jefferson Memorial or the White House then you are a sad, sad person indeed.

Let’s be sure to pick up the "reasons to hate DC tourists" thread in the new year, maybe a full day of it across the DC blogosphere. It would drive the tourist industry nuts for a change instead of vice versa.

You guys/gals love to complain on this web site. First the fish smell, now this. I’m willing to bet that it "plays in Peoria." I read this site for useful local news, not gripes.

…which is funny, Redshirt, because we’re a commentary site, not a news site. Just ask Google. ;)

Oh do we have to pour salt in that wound, Tiff?

As far as your concern about what you came here for, Redshirt, I am reminded (ashamedly) of a Dice Clay joke that ends with "well, you got the bonus plan."

I’m not here to just be a news aggregator. If I mention something that ran in another news source it’s because I have something additional to say about it. You’re welcome to simply click the link and ignore my observations.
