Did the place ever reopen? Thanks for your info; I just wrote about Cafe Express on Gridskipper:

<a href="http://gridskipper.com/travel/washington-dc/dc-restaurants-with-health-code-violations-324135.php" rel="nofollow">http://gridskipper.com/travel/washington-dc/dc-restaurants-with-health-code-violations-324135.php</a>

I went through a few months of health code violations: Cafe Express's was the most egregious.

He'd probably come out front because the back had become to gross for him.

HA!

Just last week, I was getting lunch there (first time) and was greeted by a small yet defiantly brave roach, cruising along the top of the counter...

I scribbled a quick mental note that I should probably not go back for a 2nd time.

That little guy was probably only a hint of what terrors were thriving back there.

But the real question - can you use your iPhone to get a shot of their sign that says, "Now with less vermin!"
