To clarify - I'm all for the personal view of Washington and enjoy the site. But I think there's a difference between posting about the experience at the DMV and a posting wondering whether people have reading material in their office toilets. Maybe that's just me, though.

And yet oftentimes, it's far more entertaining to read the 'tripe' over here than it is to read OpEd or Politico news. There's enough of that going around already. Places like Metroblogging gives me the pulse of my town, and the 'adventures' we all have in it. If I want opinions or loud diatribes on crap from the Hill, I'll either write my own or pay a visit to the masochistic sites of CNN and FoxNews.

I have things I want to write, but am busier than a one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest. So my DMV observations may not rate any higher on Ed's meter than Wayan's potty reading, but they reflect the extent of what I'm experiencing in DC of late and have time to put down w/o additional research.

*shrug* We're volunteers writing about DC as we experience it, not paid news gatherers or opinion wonks. Unfortunately - and I assure everyone it impacts us more than our readers - sometimes how we experience DC isn't real enthralling.

Ed, you're welcome to drop some suggestions in the suggestions box if you're looking for more content. I'll admit that I go through phases with DC, phases when this town looks all the same to me, like an old old friend that you're content to just sit with and there's no need to talk. I'm in one of them right now, and I think several of our authors are in similar spaces.

Papers with articles longer than USA Today indicate corporate digestive trouble. Get the company cafeteria to switch to high-fiber foods or brown-bag it.

Seriously? Has this blog degenerated to the point of posting blogs about reading material in an office building toilet? With everything there is to write about in this city, THIS is what we get? I would guess that this isn't the type of post for which people come to this site. It's not why I come to the site.

Wayan, surely a true man would prefer something better than a newspaper. Maybe they could install a barbecued rib dispenser.
