They’re not always cover artists, Tim, the one over on 11th Street frequently had acoustic guitarists doing original material.

Definitely the strangest placement of a musician at a Potbelly that I’ve seen so far.

Aside from that, I’m not sure how I feel about the practice of using a live musician doing covers as a substitute for some other sort of recorded music. I suppose it’s better than “The soft hits of the 70s and 80s”, but not much. I always feel bad for the performers at the local Potbelly. It might be worse than playing on the street with an open guitar case.
