Haven't been there in years -- and am inspired to check it out again. It's like the Greek Deli. A 19th St institution that draws long lines and big food that's well worth the wait.

Kinda off topic (sorry), but if you haven't checked it out yet, Teatro (one block away, K St between 19th & 20th) has a bar lunch that draws regulars. I work in the building, and we call it our "highly civilized cafeteria" -- $12.95 bar lunch menu with 1 drink (can be beer or wine)... they also have a 5:30-7pm 1/2-price wine offer. The bar staff is incredibly nice and they all have hilarious stories.

Carl- Don't know if you consider it tex-mex, but Guapos in Shirlington is excellent.

Then there is that Mexican place on Pershing and glebe. Family-owned-I can never remember the name. Right in the middle of Arlington Oaks across the street from CVS.

People love the Rio Grande on N. Fairfax in Ballston. But I haven't been there is years.

Of the 3- guapos is my favorite.

Never heard of it. I will stick with Taco Bell - the pride of Northern VA.

Seriously - any good Tex-Mex places out here in Arlington? I haven't found one I like well enough to go out of my way for.

Fortunately I have an ingrained Tex-mex radar that can seek a fajita from a distance of several blocks. How do you like your pretentiousness now, WDB!
Thanks for the clarification, Kated.

I worked in the area between 20th and 19th on and off for 15 years. When I left, I always missed the WDB and when I came back- it was one of the first places I would re-visit for lunch.

Truly a DC secret and blessing. There is always a line at lunch time- especially in the summer. You use to be able to fax in your order so you wouldn't have to wait.

Easy way to remember the address: In the alley between 19th & 20th, off of M toward N, across from The Palm.
It really is a hole in the wall.

Per their website, the address is 1220 19th St. N.W. It's above M and below N, if that helps (the website also has a handy-danady map).

Sadly, I now work by the White House and can't visit WDBurrito. Luckily, Breadline is nearby. Yum.

Megan,

That is really the address. Part of the cool factor of WDB is the lack of directions. If you don't find it, too bad (in their mindset).

I think that's a little arrogant, don't you?

Um. Address? "Between 19th and 20th" isn't very descriptive... and I need my hand held.

Absolute yum. I can't believe how much time and money I wasted at Chipotle before finding this place. Not that Chipotle is bad, but this is better.
