Casablanca on the Mall

casablanca.jpgIt might’ve been warm today, but it’s been a pleasant warm, and should make for a delightful evening to take a picnic out to the Mall around 15th and Constitution and catch Screen on the Green: Casablanca tonight. Screening starts around 8 or so, and you can claim your space after 5 tonight.

So grab a sandwich and some chips from the deli downstairs, and a couple sodas with ice, and head for the Mall to see Bogart and Bergman spice up the screen, and to hear my favorite line: “I am shocked, SHOCKED, to hear there is gambling in this establishment.”

I went to this last night – a very popular movie and esp. with a beautiful night like last night.

However, maybe I am just getting old but I find that people who get there late seems to find an inappropriate spot to sit – RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME where there is already very little room OR they bring a chair and sit high and in the way of my view of the screen. Then there are the people who stand in front of everyone’s view while they are looking for their friend.

I know that perhaps I am a little intense about this but hey, I got my ass down there early to get a spot. I don’t appreciate your lack of planning hindering my enjoyment. Am I the only person to feel this way?
