We registered at Hecht's (RIP) and they were great. Sucks that Macy's bought them and screwed 'em all up!

Thanks for the tip, Elliott! We didn't register with Macy's anyway, but we'll be sure to try BBB now. I'll have to check out what Crate & Barrel has as a return policy so when Carl gets crazy and buys us two plates I can return them for a salt shaker.

Don't bother registering at Macy's. My wife and I registered there and it turned into hassle after hassle. You can only get store credit from returns (Bed Bath & Beyond will give you cold, hard cash with a smile). Returning something on your registry without receipt, they'll only give you credit for the lowest price from the last 6 months. This is despite the fact that they have in their records the actual price that was paid (since it was scanned as being part of your registry). Yes, they have nice stuff, but register at Bed Bath and you can always take your cash to Costco :-)

Wow, I'm still shocked by the fact that you guys are registering ... and then at Macy's! That's so suburban! Though nice bed linens are freakin' expensive, so I guess it is better to have as many people help you buy those items than repellling gear. You probably would find more useful stuff on Amazon.com, sans people who know nothing about customer service.

Yet another reason the Marshall Fields sales here in Chicago plummetted after Macy's took over; besides turning Field's into an upscale Wal-Mart interms of the merchan dise, they gutted it's awesome customer service.

Now I am really confused as to why it would take 20 minutes to register in the store. It only took one minute and one form online.

I guess the in-store wedding adviser writes slow.
