What’s Your WalkScore?

Picture%201.pngOver in Fairlington, I ended up with a 54, but I know some neighborhoods in DC, like that of the White House, or Wayan’s favorite Petworth, can score well into the 80s. Check out your Walk Score and see how you do. I was surprised my current neighborhood is so low, and that my older, potentially less-walkable neighborhood was a much higher 65. How’s your place fare?

Correct me if I’m wrong… But I don’t see what is probably one of the most important elements of a “WalkScore” in the equation… Proximity to Metro.

You’re right, there’s no proximity to public transit system, is there?

Ouch! I moved from an 82 to a 43. Ah, the joys of home ownership.

I’m trying to figure out why Pentagon City only got 82; must have been the movie theater closing and no full service video store (as if it matters anymore). Oh and no ABC store.

My Adams Morgan neighborhood scored an 83. Maybe I should think about getting rid of the car, huh?

Wow, I’m in an 88 zone (U Street, Logan, Shaw, whatever people are calling my hood these days).

I scored a 6. I live in Potomac, MD. the concept is wonderful, the data is woefully inadequate. orange julius at the mall is listed as a “bar”. The 2 rest/bars near my house are not even on the list. great conept/ execution needs help.

I got a 68 for my edge-of-Del Ray address. I think the fact that there are four restaurants, a dry cleaner, and a mini-mart all sharing my address probably helps!

91, in Chevy Chase (walkable to everything).

82 at my apartment complex in Springfield, although most of the roadways aren’t exactly pedestrian friendly.

My Capitol Hill SE neighborhood was an 88 and my office downtown (13 & F NW) was a whopping 97!

    69. No really, it is. My particular section of Pentagon City is even lower than your old location, WFY.

    9th & C SE gets a 92. :)
