Futhermore I doubt whether the people they are aimed at - namely bad drivers have the money to pay them. Furthermore why are we limiting them to our own citizens and giving out of staters a pass, if they want to come to our state I think its incumbent upon them to know and to obey our laws. Furthermore I think the whole idea is to raise money for the dept of transportation and public safety be damned. If it was about public safety I'm sure more thought would have gone into trying to change the current laws to a more to be more reasonable rather than just raising the fines. you can start out by chaning the amount of time between changes of from red lihgts to green or yellow and do something on the other side. Red should not become instantly green. A person who is approaching a green light should be appised that it just turned green and to watch out for cars coming thru a possible yellow light that just turned red. that's the kind of thouhgt process that should take place if you wre indeed cocerned with traffic safety, rather than to just continue to bleed those of uis who don't have the kind of money the new fines call for.
