Open for Business!

You’ve waited for it. You’ve hated on your uber-corporate acidic mud water (yes, sadly, I still buy and drink it). You’ve longed for the talked-about and pined-after loveliness of Dunkin’ coffee – and now you have it.

Dunkins have been popping up all over Northern Virginia (check out your closest here) and North Arlington finally got theirs. They built the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robins right around Lee Hwy and Spout Run Parkway/66, and the neighborhood folks have been talking about it since the sign landed on the new brick a month ago.

Saturday marked the grand opening, and when I walked over (it’s right across from my place), the place was full. One line for coffee and donuts, another line for ice cream. I got my Saturday coffee and went on my way. So. Much. Better.

And, worker bees, they are even open until 10 pm so that you can hang out and do your work, or stop by late for that coffee to keep you and your laptop chugging along. Welcome to the neighborhood DD! Too bad I’ll be bolting soon…

North Arlington didn’t “finally get” a Dunkins, they “finally got one back”. There was a Dunkins on Wilson across from GMU Law for many many years before it was bought out and turned into a short lived fast-food mexican joint, and now a fast food central-american food joint.
