A bunch of HOA jerkoffs.

My father is president of his HOA but he doesn't take crap from people like you who want sanity and reasonableness. He also doesn't take crap from the people who are into Robert's rules of order and proper procedure.

To Dad, everyone who stands in the way of progress is a nitwit, and that's a damned large lot of folks at the meetings, from what he says. People complain about every little thing, from the grass maintenance service to the tree trimmers to the color of the buildings. He just wants it to be a good place to live.

I think it's because they are in a community of somewhat idle upper middle class people who have nothing to do but find things to complain about and then try to find who is responsible so they can blame somebody. It's a hell of a lot easier than trying to fix a problem.

If you guys lived where my Dad does, he would let your friend have the cool door with the cool windows. He doesn't care about stupid shit that seems like a no-brainer. But I don't think he would be happy if the weiner mobile parked outside his neighbor's home.

Torches? Oh no, that's far too plebeian for them. Extra-hot half-caf double-shot lattes and titanium Calloway drivers.

I can't wait to see their reaction when we paint the proposed mural on the side of Big Red, the previously mentioned E250 van. Perhaps the new mural design should be the poor Lincoln Towncar driver being run out of the neighborhood by angry residents bearing torches.

Yeah, it would be a tragedy if we allowed people who work for a living to live in this area. F150 pickups with magnetic logo signs? Hell no! Nothing but Hummers and Expeditions for IT professionals to drive across all the nicely paved roads on their way to the office parking lot.

The comic thing is that I have the red 89 Econoline longbody E250 parked in front of my house. It's about 6'6" high, has one busted window that I have replaced with a piece of sheet metal. I use it to haul crap around as needed but it's not a commercial vehicle, so it's safe. The brand new Lincoln? Outta here!

They know that if they allowed the "for hire" plate then the whole neighborhood would soon be overrun with exterminator vans, Wal-Mart trucks and wiener-mobiles.
