Strawflower in the Late Day Sun II

While Max is way to humble to post one of his own photographs as an image of the day, his photography is what drew me to him for an interview back in the day and how he got involved with Metroblogging DC in the first place. So since he would never do it, I shall.

I present you my favorite image of the week from the Metroblogging DC Flickr pool, Max’s very own Strawflower in the Late Day Sun II, a perfect vision for this glorious weekend:

Hey thanks guys! I’m glad you like my work. I’m in love with photography, but like any love it has its ups and downs. One week I’m obsessed, the next it never crosses my mind.

This shot is of my neighbor’s potted flower that was just too amazing to pass up. I actually stole it for about a half an hour to put it in my window sill, in the sun and out of the wind. And like all of my flower shots, my 180mm macro lens was used.

I’m constantly trying new things and would love to get into doing some portrait photography. It’s a struggle for me though because I much prefer the simplicity of shooting inanimate objects.
