We Live in a Beautiful World

Not.

With the usual suspects blocking efforts to have a Live Earth concert here in DC, producers have thrown in the towel and moved the event to the Garden State, of all places.

Help! Where do I sign up for a $200 ticket for the regurgitation tour of the Police, Rod Stewart, Genesis, Roger Waters…

The Meadowlands of course. No thank you, I’ll take playoff hockey instead.

Too important was the Folklife Festival (admittedly pretty cool) and Together One Unity (gag).

Do you believe in what you see? Nothing is real. Wasting my time, in the waiting line.

It is unfortunate that this concert could not take place in DC, but the Meadowlands is not a bad place for the event. Giants Stadium is in the midst of successful habitat restoration programs and cleanups. New Jersey may have pollution problems, but at least the state is working on fixing them.

Superbly put… and now I must dig out my soundtrack.

The point I was trying to make was not so much that the concert has be moved to New Jersey, but that the usual political clowns (and the lobbyists in their pockets) intentionally blocked the efforts of having it here on the mall.

Thanks Ashleigh, enjoy. An interesting film, and one of my all-time favorite compilation CDs.
