federal government closing early

Word on the street is that the federal government in the Washington, D.C. area will close at 2 p.m. today – WTOP confirms that is the case except for emergency personnel.

Unfortunately the OPM website has been flooded with web traffic as all the Feds and their contractor support rush to determine whether or not the rumors are true… the site has basically shut down… makes you what would happen in a real snow emergency…

Does one actually get paid to post this kind of non-news that we can hear over the air waves on the internet?

Wow, anyone with internet access can do this. For free.

Blogging. The new drivel in pixel form.

    :)

Chaz if you’d like to make a personal donation to pay for me to write a blog entry that would be more compelling to your sensibilities – feel free – and you can even just suggest a story by clicking on the link on the right hand side – right under the “search” bar.

If you had read the post when it was originally put up on the site (TWO DAYS AGO) – not everyone with internet access couldn’t get to this information due to the high volumes of traffic causing OPM, WTOP, and other relevant websites to shut down or slow to a crawl.

So, yes, if I can post a few quick lines to let people know about this – I will. And one wonders whether your ability to leave moronic comments is limited to posts that you read days after the fact :)

Smouie, don’t discount the comedic contributions of people who demonstrate how much of a waste of time they thought a post was… by spending a few more moments posting a response to it.

    I heart Irony.
