fireplace As in cold, not as in jaded.

Okay locals, or those cold-blooded types (i.e. people who prefer hot weather), are now free to complain openly. This is Midwest cold, even approaching Minnesota/Canada cold. The freakin’ wind doesn’t help much when it’s in the low teens. I just checked and with the wind chill, it’s a bone-chilling 0°F outside. I can attest to this as I just walked home from watching the Red Wings/Rangers game with my buddy Drew and I froze my ass off.

It made my nose run, which then turned to icicles. My thighs were logs. It was like the old days, the ones I ran away from. Pull on some wool socks, build a fire, and stay toasty. Or cuddle up with your honey in bed with the comforters piled high.

And good luck getting your car started in the morning.

The good news? April is only two months away and thus far it has been very mild this winter.

Add verticle and horizontal snow (simultaneously)…and then it’ll be midwest cold.

    Especially the horizontal.

Huh, funny. Didn’t seem so bad to me. Hmmmm.

Oh, it’s because I’m in Galveston, TX, just south of Houston!

I’m with you Doug- I am now accepting open complaints. This is valid.

Totally forgot about the frozen legs thing though – haven’t felt that in years. Ah, the good old days.

I must say that the lines for all the popular lunch places are pretty short today, though, since people don’t want to walk outside! Nice!
