Winter

Has winter finally arrived?

I wouldn’t hold your breath. I’ll stay mute until I see real snow flakes. Typing doesn’t count. I did see a partially frozen puddle this morning. Our first true frost, near the end of January?

Keep pounding on the gas pedal of your SUV out on the beltway, maybe next year no one will have to fly south to escape the chills. My money would be on sending tourists to Canada, Alaska, or to one of the poles—your last chance to see a real glacier before they all melt!

Yesterday evening when I crossed the line from MD into DC on my way to class, it flurried for all of 5 minutes.
