I’ve returned from my fun party - it was fun, but since it was right across the street, it was just too tempting to come home and get a better view of the television and results.

Fox News and CNN are calling Maryland - Steele and Erlich have both lost. Steele - although I am sincerely a huge fan - has lost, and it’s not a huge surprise. The big upset is Erlich. Generally well-liked in the suburbs, socially moderate, has defeated a democrat in an upset before - Erlich going down is most likely a big preview of the rest of the evening as the other gubernatorial races start coming in.

Erlich is a surprise. And the night is only starting…
