Can I ask a quick question?

Okay, perhaps I’m just missing it. What’s the appeal of Big Head Rob? I mean, it strikes me that he’s a vindictive putz that’s interested in heaping scorn on those who refuse to feed his hopper with their gossip, but is there really a need for a gossipblogger about dc blogs? I mean, really? Are the bloggers in this town that fraught with intrigue that there needs to be a blog about their persons?

I’m not going to claim to be a prominent major DC blogger, and this certainly isn’t a blog war, but is there a need to attack the individuals who run this city’s best blogs or drag them down because they won’t grant you an interview, Rob? I, for one, believe that his vendetta against DCist’s excellent Sommer Mathis has gone too far, and now Rob seeks to gain by other means what he could not get by being polite: Sommer’s attention.

Rob. Stop it. You’re being a dick.

Tom, as we’ve told you more than once, Big Head Rob is much more than a gossip blog about other DC blogs. Read our About page sometime. Ciao.

I have read your about page, Rob, it’s just that you seem to be obsessed with Sommer since she turned down your interview, and you seem intent on dragging her through the mud just because of it.

Both President Bush and President Clinton have stymied our efforts for interviews, too, and we hold no ill feelings. Tom, so many people have turned us down for interviews, if we spent our time on vendettas, we wouldn’t even be able to blog. We do what we do, sans calling you a “putz” or “dick.” You do what you do.

So, why the personal attacks against Sommer Mathis, Rob? It doesn’t make sense to me. The only reason you’ve singled her out is that she’s turned you down for an interview.

Nothing personal, Tom, we assure you. Want to do an exlusive BHR interview?

Sorry Rob, I don’t do tabloids.

I have three words: troll, troll, troll. Oh wait, that’s one word three times. ;-)

Seriously, you’re bolstering your case that you’re not exclusively about gossip by pointing at your about page? How is that any more evidenciary than a statement “I am not just about gossip?” That’s about as convincing as George Michael claiming “no no, I’m really bisexual” then heading out to suck off another bus driver.

Behave the way you like, but have the guts to own up to it.

By the way, saying that the interview thing is irrelevant and other people have turned you down without ill feelings amounts up to “No, I’m being a dick for a completely OTHER reason.”

You guys really think BHR cares about this sommer character? Look at the ads on his blog: all he cares about is attention and traffic. He doesn’t care about the people he writes about, just about the hits that writing about them may receive. By linking him and giving him hits, you do what he wants.

Why on earth would you feed this shitbird’s attention jones by deigning to notice him?

  12. Tom Bridge (unregistered) on October 23rd, 2006 @ 2:55 pm

Because even though he is an attention whore, there’s got to be a point at which people say “Stop.”

This is that point. This will also be the final word here on DCMB about BHR, because he is a troll.
