Post Wins Emmy
Although the term “new media” (what the Emmy people like to call “non-traditional delivery platforms”) leaves a bad taste in my mouth, washingtonpost.com deservedly won an Emmy
last night for their online coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
Deservedly because the design was executed with great care, and includes an interactive map of the entire Gulf Coast with links to before and after satellite images, panoramic views, and text/image links to highlighted video coverage of life in the flooded 9th ward after the hurricane and the return of residents to Jefferson Parish.
You will also find a ton of additional content, including a wonderful gallery of photographs, worth browsing if you poke around. You will definitely want a broadband connection and a Flash enabled browser to enjoy all of it.
