Nerd prom today

Well, okay, not nerd prom – that’s what Warren Ellis quipped that the San Diego ComicCon is – but the NBC4 Connected Expo is today and tomorrow. Less scary dudes, more geeky stuff and consumer toys. Metblogger Joe tells me that last year they had all the Dance Dance Revolution you could care to play, free.

I am sure I gave him the appropriate gimlet look when he told me this.

Anyway, it’ll also have me there playing booth bunny for my employer’s booth. I’m not quite sure why we’re there – we’re a contract firm that doesn’t do anything consumer oriented – except that we’re a part of some tech consortium that has a cluster of booths. So I look forward to a long day of explaining that no, you can’t buy any of it and no, there’s nowhere you can go to use it, free or otherwise.

Maybe there’ll be a Wii I can play with somewhere or something.

So, inquiring minds want to know. Is there DDR there this year?

The DDR is in fact there – in two places no less. The pair of full-sized stations are over by the humane society trailer and there’s a company near my booth promoting games for health with a few of the playstation pads.
