Name: Robert Clayton Dean
Residence: Washington, DC (the house used in filming was in Adams Morgan)
Occupation: Labor Lawyer
Memorable Quote: “This is my life, I worked hard for it and I want it back. I grew up without a father, I know what that is. And I will not allow my family to go through that. “

Robert Clayton Dean, high-powered DC labor lawyer, has it all- career, hot wife, cute kid, nice house, hostile Mafia contacts, yada yada. And then through a series of completely implausible events, he ends up in the center of a conspiracy theorist’s wet dream and nearly loses all of it. He ends up with a tape of the murder of a congressman and then:

  • loses his job (in a great scene where he asks the senior partner if he ever masturbates in the shower)
  • nearly loses his wife due to some photos with strong implications
  • loses his former mistress- murdered by the people who want the tape
  • nearly loses his freedom- framed for the murder

And finally has to contact a crusty old former spy to get his life back – hijinx ensue, including Dean running, in his underwear, through a Baltimore tunnel we’re supposed to believe is in DC. They eventually succeed, however, by instigating a frantic shootout in a tiny Italian restauraunt, pitting the NSA against the Mafia. Right. But all’s well that ends well, because Robert goes back to his cozy house in Adams Morgan to make blatant sexual innuendo with his wife in front of his kid.
