That’s How We Roll.
The DC Rollergirls will be out in full-force this week, promoting their sport, giving some love to their sponsors and fans, and bidding fond farewell to a favorite neighborhood bar and pool hall. Tonight, we’ll be celebrating Asylum‘s 15th birthday. From Poseurs.com:
Wednesday, August 23rd marks 15 years since Asylum’s birth. The celebration will be off the hook with the debut of our new shirts, “Pin the Tail on the Stripper”, a devilish photo booth, The Wheel of Misfortune and you can bet our Naughty Nurses and Orderlies will keep it all in check.
The festivities will run all night or at least ’til 2am. DC Rollergirls will also be on hand to walk you or should I say roll you thru the mayhem. It’s gonna be quite a celebration marking 15 years of Rockin’ DC so don’t miss it.
This Saturday, August 26, from 6 pm to midnight The “Red, White, & Bruised” DC Rollergirl Benefit Show rolls into Dr. Dremo’s Taphouse in Arlington.
The music promises to be bangin’, featuring DJ High C with live performances by So Damn Thirsty, Stupyd Cow, Supreme Commander, and The Tidbits. Admission is free. Dr. Dremo’s has, yet again, announced the possibility of closing its doors very soon, clearing the way for condominiums. But it will not go quietly, as my girls have planned a redonkulous evening of Rollergirl arm-wrestling, a spanking booth, and the infamous “Wheel of Doom.” DCRG merchandise and raffle tickets will be on sale. One lucky fan will win a date with a DC Rollergirl. (Sorry boys, I won’t be up for bid.) All proceeds go to benefit the most awesome ladies in the DC area, your very own DC Rollergirls.
That’s it, that’s all for your weekly rollergirl update. Come out and see me! holler.
