Hot enough to fry a dog’s brain

Enjoying the new hotness? says the temperatures are going to be well into the high 90s and the heat indices will be triple digits today and tomorrow. The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments says it all adds up to a code orange air quality for the next two days.

If you are not lucky enough to have easy pool access there are public swimming pools and waterparks all over the region. It is either that or staying inside all day — it is going to be oppressively hot out there.

I just had building maintenance come by and ask us to close our blinds to help keep the building cool. Hmm… environmentalism or cost consciousness? Ether way, a cool gesture.

Wow, I just ventured out in this steam and it was incredible. Stomp your guts hot, but happily only noonish, so I didn’t have to endure the madness that will ensue at 4:00. Phew! Thank our technologists for AC. Back at the cave, with soothing coolness.

I work with psychos. One person biked to work from Chevy Chase and came into the office drenched in sweat, the other went out for his usual lunch hour ride. FREAKS.
