Nats make a big trade

Coming out of the All-Star break the Nats GM Jim Bowden has wasted no time in pulling the trigger on a trade

The Nationals began what could be an eventful run-up to the July 31 trade deadline with an eight-player deal on Thursday, acquiring outfielder Austin Kearns, shortstop Felipe Lopez and right-hander Ryan Wagner from the Reds in exchange for relievers Gary Majewski, Bill Bray and Daryl Thompson, infielder Brendan Harris and shortstop Royce Clayton.

Initial posts out of the Natmosphere are positive:

Captial Punishment – Snap judgment, it’s a good deal!

Banks of Anacostia – …this is a great trade on its face.

Just a Nats Fan – seems like a really good deal

Nasty Nats – …although we’ll miss Bray and Majewski, the trade sure looks like a steal.

Nats Triple Play – The consensus here at NTP is that this is a good deal for the Nats.

Time will tell if it is a good deal, but at least it is more interesting than talking about parking garages, right?
