Today’s “I’m glad I’m a dude” moment

Capitol Weather provided a link to this Washington Post chat about makeup options and strategies for dealing with the heat and mugginess and I made it about 5 paragraphs before my head was spinning. Holy frijole you women lead complicated lives!

Don, if you actually cared about your presentation, you would be concerned too. I change hair product in the summer to match the change in humidity. And before you snipe, I do this frivolity only because I only have a few more years of hair left.

Sorry Don, clearly I’m bad a being a “girl” – I couldn’t even make it through the first two paragraphs of that one.

Tsk tsk Mik – the female verion of ‘dude’ is ‘gal,’ not ‘girl.’

Hmm, wait, Fidelity National Title’s “Big Dude”, aka Regional Manger once told me that “Dude” was universal, so if you’re a Dude, and I’m a Dude, isn’t everyone a Dude, Dude?

I concur, however I also use the term ‘actor’ in a gender-neutral way so maybe I’m the wrong person to ask. I merely meant to say that if you want to use a feminized word in place of dude I think the less dismissive ‘gal’ is better than ‘girl,’ which has a sense of judgmental to it.
