		<description>I don&#039;t really agree that it&#039;s a bad move.  Being a lifetime Cincinnati fan who is now a Nats fan too, I&#039;ve personally witnessed Jim&#039;s success at GM.  He made several shrewd moves throughout his tenure in Cincinnati and helped steer a small market team to several playoff appearances.  I think you should give him a chance with real ownership before writing him off.

A few years back, I remember reading that MLB &quot;requested&quot; new owners keep the current management team (GM and manager) in place for at least one year. It a) keeps some semblence of continuity and b) doesn&#039;t embarrass the previous owner.

The owners aren&#039;t required to do this, but I wouldn&#039;t be surprised if it was strongly implied that whacking the MLB-appointed GM wouldn&#039;t be seen in the best light.</description>
